Dr. Ioannis Paliokas (Assist. Professor, International Hellenic University – IHU, Faculty of Economics & Business Administration, ipaliokas@af.ihu.gr) received the Diploma of Electrical & Computer Engineer (Democritus University of Thrace-DUTH, Xanthi, Greece, 1999), the M.Sc. in Computer Science (New York Institute of Technology, New York, USA, 2003) and he completed his Ph.D. in educational software design(Edugames) and evaluation (DUTH, Alexandroupolis, Greece, 2008). Today, he has over than 15 years of teaching experience in various public Universities in Northern Greece and research experience in a lot of HORIZON 2020 & national projects as a post-doc researcher in Centre for Research & Technology Hellas, Information Technologies Institute (CERTH/ITI, 2012-2022). Moreover, he has worked with the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diphantoous” (CTI) in a five years project on digitization and enrichment of the official public school books and content development for the national Learning Objects aggregator ‘Photodentro’, on behalf of the Greek Ministry of Education. Dr. Paliokas has published more than 80 articles in scientific journals and conferences, while he holds three patents. His research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Gamification & Serious Games, Virtual/Augmented Reality applications in various market domains like education, digital heritage and health.
